Auditions: 2022-2023 Season

ARCADIA CHORALE ANNOUNCES AUDITIONS FOR 2022-2023 SEASON

Arcadia Chorale is holding rolling auditions for the 2022-2023 concert season throughout the year by appointment.

Auditioning singers are required to sing a prepared solo or choral selection, demonstrate sight-reading ability, and vocalize in warm-ups to determine range and vocal quality. Auditions will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Scranton. Other scheduling arrangements may be made at the discretion of our Music Director, Matthew Rupcich.

There are currently paid openings in our tenor and bass sections, but all voice parts are encouraged to apply. In addition to our regular roster of section singers, we are always looking for singers, as we occasionally require substitutes or extra vocalists for special projects.

For more information and to schedule an audition, please contact Matthew Rupcich, Music Director, at matthew.w.rupcich@gmail.com or (646) 457-7344.

Please note that the Chorale rehearses Monday evenings from 7:00–9:30pm at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Scranton. Singers are paid $8 per service. At this time, the ensemble requires all auditioning and performing singers to be fully vaccinated to protect against Covid-19. If accepted into the ensemble, singers must abide by CDC, state and local guidelines regarding pandemic safety during rehearsals and performances.

The Chorale’s upcoming season includes a Fall Concert (October); Christmas Concert (December); annual Messiah Sing-along, broadcast on WVIA-FM (December); Bach Festival (March); and Pops Concert (May). Additional special projects will be announced as more information becomes available. Accepted singers will be given a full season schedule at the first rehearsal this fall.

Founded as the Robert Dale Chorale in 1977, the Arcadia Chorale serves Northeastern Pennsylvania with concerts, public appearances and other community functions. The Chorale has received critical acclaim for performances of works ranging from the Renaissance to the present, and has appeared on local television, on WVIA-FM, and on many regional performing arts series. Singers are auditioned every year to continue the tradition of excellence to which the Chorale is dedicated.

Please enjoy our virtual season and videos of live performances to become more familiar with the sound of the ensemble.
