Arcadia Chorale will hold auditions for our 2026-2027 concert season on Thursday, July 23 & Wednesday, July 29, 2026.
Auditions will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Scranton between the hours of 7:00-9:00pm. Singers should plan approximately 30 minutes for their audition slot. For more information and to schedule an audition time, please contact the Chorale via email (contact@arcadiachorale.org) or call us at (570) 871-0350.
Additional dates/times may be added if necessary, but interested singers are strongly encouraged to arrange a time on either the 23rd or 29th if possible, as we will be setting the preliminary roster following these auditions. If you require a different meeting day/time, please let us know!
All voice parts are encouraged to apply. In addition to our regular roster of section singers, we are always looking for talented vocalists, as we occasionally require substitutes or extra voices for special projects.
Auditionees are required to sing a prepared solo or choral selection, demonstrate sight-reading ability, and vocalize in warm-ups to determine range and vocal quality. (A pianist will be available to accompany you.) Please also be prepared to discuss your previous vocal/choral experiences and current scheduling availability.
During the season, the Chorale typically rehearses Monday evenings from 7:00-9:30pm at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Scranton. Singers are paid $8 per service. Rehearsals for the 2026-2027 season will begin in late August.
The Chorale’s upcoming season includes a Fall Concert (October); Christmas/Holiday Concert (early December); annual Messiah Sing-along, broadcast on WVIA-FM (December); Bach Festival (March); Spring Concert (May); and Summer Sing (June). Additional special projects will be announced as more information becomes available. Accepted singers will be given a full season schedule at the first rehearsal in the fall.
Founded as the Robert Dale Chorale in 1977, the Arcadia Chorale serves Northeastern Pennsylvania with concerts, public appearances and other community functions. The Chorale has received critical acclaim for performances of works ranging from the Renaissance to the present, and has appeared on local television, on WVIA-FM, and on many regional performing arts series. Singers are auditioned every year to continue the tradition of excellence to which the Chorale is dedicated.

The Arcadia Chorale is looking for excellent musicians with a passion for singing who want to add their voices to our professional ensemble. We hold auditions for new singers in the summer, or by appointment during the season. These auditions consist of the following:
vocalization to determine comfortable range, quality and consistency of tone
sight singing
a prepared selection — this should be from the solo repertoire if you are interested in doing solo work; otherwise, a choral selection of appropriate difficulty is acceptable
an informal interview to discuss background, training and interests
Please note that the Chorale rehearses Monday evenings from 7:00-9:30 pm at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Scranton. Singers are paid $8 per service. Arcadia Chorale's concert season consists of a fall concert, a Christmas/Holiday concert, the annual NEPA Messiah Sing-Along, the annual NEPA Bach Festival, a Pops concert, and the Summer Sing! mini-festival. If you are unable to sing the full season, you may still contact us to arrange an audition; we occasionally need additional singers for specific concerts.
