Messiah Sing–Along

3:00pm

Sunday, December 17

St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Wilkes-Barre

Our holiday tradition continues: Join Arcadia Chorale for our annual Messiah Sing–Along!

We'll invite our audience to join the Chorale in singing famous choruses from the work, such as "And the Glory of the Lord," "For Unto Us a Child is Born," and of course, "Hallelujah" and "Worthy is the Lamb."

We'll be joined by guest soloists (they'll perform the arias) and orchestra. Bring your score or purchase one at the door and get ready to sing along to Handel's masterpiece! Or simply come and listen to this glorious choral music to get you in the holiday mood. We hope to see you there!

Arcadia Chorale is proud to present this event in partnership with WVIA-FM , who will record the performance and broadcast it on Christmas Eve and again on Christmas Day.

This year, our Christmas program centers around the Virgin Mary and the image of a rose in winter. The program will feature settings of familiar texts, such a Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming, The Angel Gabriel, There is No Rose, and the Ave Maria. Traditional works by Victoria, Byrd, and Praetorius will be presented alongside contemporary pieces by Bullard, Forbes, and Lohman.

To add to our sense of togetherness this season, please join us in singing traditional carols, such as Joy to the World and Silent Night! This beautiful, poignant program will help put you in a reflective and joyous mood. We hope to see you there!
