Rehearsal and Performance Attire
REHEARSALS (including dress rehearsal)
Singers may wear casual clothing. Masks may be required depending on pandemic protocols at the time.
Singers should wear all black.
Formal wear is not expected! Appropriate attire includes a black blouse or button down shirt with black pants/skirt, or a black dress.
Depending on pandemic conditions, masks may be required for singers at this year's Summer Sing. Singers who wear a mask for the performance on Saturday night must wear a black mask. Arcadia Chorale will provide black masks for those who do not have one.
Please keep in mind that you'll be appearing as part of an ensemble when making your clothing choices: We ask that you not draw attention with jewelry or other accessories that may be distracting.
Please avoid wearing perfume or highly fragrant personal products (hairspray, deodorant, etc.) which may cause allergic reactions in your fellow singers. Please choose unscented products when possible.
Food & Beverages
Lunch and dinner breaks will be provided on Saturday, June 25.
Snacks and meals may be eaten in Covenant's auditorium. Please do not bring food or drinks (other than water) into the sanctuary or other rehearsal spaces.
Arcadia Chorale will provide snacks (granola bars, fruit, etc.) and beverages throughout the Summer Sing, and will also offer Saturday:
Boxed lunch: $10
Hot dinner: $10
Singers will have an opportunity to purchase Saturday meal vouchers when registering. See below for food choices covered by meal vouchers.
Participants may also opt to bring their own food (limited refrigerator space available at Covenant upon request), or may plan to visit one of Scranton's many restaurants. Please keep the rehearsal timeframes and parking considerations in mind if you plan to leave Covenant during meal breaks.
After registering, participants who purchase meal vouchers will be sent an email to designate food choices from options below:
To participate in Summer Sing, all singers must be fully vaccinated to protect against COVID-19.
Registered singers will be required to provide proof of vaccination to participate in Summer Sing. Please check your email for instructions.
While the pandemic situation changes frequently, singing remains a high-risk activity. For your own safety and the safety of your singing partners and audience, please follow CDC recommendations for full vaccination.
Individuals who are feeling sick or test positive for COVID-19 (even if asymptomatic) at the time of Summer Sing should not attend.
Masks are required for vaccinated individuals during indoor activities when the county's (Lackawanna) COVID-19 Community Level is high. Masks are encouraged during indoor activities for high-risk individuals when the Community Level is medium.
Singers are welcome to wear a mask throughout Summer Sing, regardless of COVID-19 Community Level.
Currently, Arcadia Chorale and Covenant Presbyterian Church require masks for all unvaccinated individuals during indoor activities, regardless of COVID-19 Community Level.
Note: Arcadia Chorale reserves the right to require masks for singers even if CDC guidelines are more relaxed at the time of Summer Sing.
All participants will be required to follow local, state, and CDC guidance regarding masking and social distancing that is in place during the time of Summer Sing.
All singers will be required to follow Covenant Presbyterian Church's protocols regarding masking and social distancing that are in place during the time of Summer Sing.
Since this is an ever-changing situation, check back here regularly for updated information. Thank you for your cooperation!
Due to capacity concerns, a limited number of audience tickets will be available to the public for the Summer Sing performance on Saturday, June 25.
