Matthew Rupcich is thrilled to be the Interim Music Director for the Arcadia Chorale. Besides working with the Arcadia Chorale, Matthew is the conductor of the Misericordia University Community Choir (Wilkes Barre, PA), conductor and music director with the Tri-State Chorale (Milford, PA), children’s chorus director with CaPAA, the Creative and Performing Arts Academy (Scranton, PA), music director and conductor of the Rockland Camerata (Rockland, NY), and the choir director at First Presbyterian Church (Hawley, PA).
Matthew worked as an adjunct professor of choral music at Hunter College (CUNY) from 2006 – 2016. Matthew has conducted at West Point, The Richard Rodgers Theater, The Metropolitan Museum, Avery Fisher Hall, and the Buxton Opera House in England among other internationally-recognized houses. He served as the concert and choral director for the Blue Hill Troupe of New York City from 2005 – 2012, conducting both operettas (Gilbert and Sullivan) and musicals.
Matthew has a large voice studio with CaPAA (Creative and Performing Arts Academy) in Scranton, PA, and in Rockland County, NY, with the Rockland Conservatory. Matthew is a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University where he studied voice with Phyllis Bryn-Julson and earned a degree in Music Education, and he has a Master’s in choral conducting from the University of Maryland.
